Local steel production down 13,000 tons
Estimated raw steel production in Indiana and the Chicago area -- the nation's second-largest steel-producing region -- was 408,000 tons during the week ending Feb. 6, down from the 421,000 tons produced the week prior, according to the American Iron and Steel Institute.
