It’s not your average senior picture, says Kevin Harrington. “It’s sort of traditional with a fashion edge. With seniors, you have to keep it fresh, innovative, and ‘roll with the changes,’ like the REO Speedwagon song.”
Harrington asks the seniors’ interests, has them fill out a short survey, and, sure, does a few shots in the studio. But then it’s off to the backgrounds in Three Oaks, Mich.—“a cool, classic American town,” says Harrington. Venues range from the Featherbone Factory, to Drier’s Meat Market, to the beach. “We’ll take 10 seniors to the beach—they bring their senior friends and have a good time, crank up the music.
On Harrington’s own 15 acres, a gazebo, hay wagon and barns make for natural family shots.
