For the best place to catch a flick in Northwest Indiana, The Times and Shore readers say to head out to Portage and the Portage 16 IMAX.
Being named the region’s top theater is “awesome,” says manager Kevin Morgan. Customers like the variety offered by the theater’s size, he notes, and “with the right title the IMAX is definitely the biggest draw in the building.”
The Portage 16 IMAX also offers a couple of budget-friendly programs, including the Frequent Moviegoer Club and the Twilight discount. The FMG Club, which people can sign up for online, offers points for movie tickets that can be redeemed at the concession counter, and an e-newsletter with coupons, including discounts on most films after they have been out for two weeks.
The Twilight discount offers a $5.75 ticket on movies between 4 and 6 p.m., “So we can give people an extra break right after school or work,” Morgan says.
