Owners Brandon and Emily Mulnix recognize the photography is a labor of love and specialize in wedding photography, family lifestyle portraits, senior portraits, maternity photos, and children’s photography. The difference is that the photographs from Modern Photographics are not just portraits, but they are truly about the person or people in the photo. Sessions are personalized on the individual’s style and personality, not some generic blue or gray fake oil painted background. Wedding photographs and family lifestyle portraits are a mix of artistic candid and traditional images for the perfect mix to remember the wedding forever. Mulnix uses a mix of natural light and studio light as well for proper exposure. He also photographs for non-typical requests, such as aerial photography, animals at the county fair, and even some passport photos.
“What makes me different is I’m about capturing the heart of the client. When people look back 30 years from now, I want them to see what emotions that person was feeling and who that person was at that point in history. If you can’t capture their heart or see their heart, it’s probably not my work. It’s not about technique, it’s about the person,” Mulnix says.
