“It’s always an honor,” says founder and president Tom Gelsosomo, who opened the first Gelsosomo’s in Portage in 1979. Four more locations—in Chesterton, Valparaiso, Michigan City and Crown Point—as well as one in St. Joseph, Michigan, have opened their doors in the years since. But the formula that makes them so popular has remained the same, Gelsosomo says: fresh ingredients, consistency and friendly service.
In addition to pizza, Gelsosomo’s bill of fare includes pasta dishes, hot sandwiches, burgers, appetizers and more.
