Dear Total Mailroom,

My class has been the recipient of your generosity. We greatly appreciated the The Times Newspapers you provided. We learned about the parts of the paper, news stories, did scavenger hunts through the paper, made pressman's hats, wrote our own captions to photos, discussed stories that affected our community and school, let other classes read the papers when we finished, looked up stock prices, and more.

Attached are pictures of some of our activities. Thanks again from all the 7th grade students at Memorial Jr. High in Lansing Illinois.

Thank you for helping me provide a valuable learning opportunity to the students of Boone Grove High School. The newspapers help them become much more knowledgeable citizens!

Lowell Middle School
Dear Ms. Jachim,

On behalf of my staff and our students at Lowell Middle School, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the contribution you made to our program last year.

Our students, and our teachers, certainly gained a new perspective of history in this decade through the TIMES Capsule program. What a neat way to make history come alive for those who have not lived through the events that came before!

The lessons that were learned contributed not only historically, but also from an "integrated" approach to education. Our students not only participated in "history in the making", so to speak, but they got an interesting glimpse of the evolvement of news reporting and coverate. At the same time, I believe it made them feel as though they are in some way involved in the "countdown to the millennium," as you so well described it.

I hope the sponsors of this endeavor will know that their contribution has been worthwhile and appreciated.

We cannot express how valuable this tool has been in studying current events, English, math, and social studies. We really look forward to this generous gesture next year. Please keep us in mind.
