Actress and children’s book author Julianne Moore to share her newest book with kids

April 16th, 2009 - By NWI Parent Staff

On Sunday, May 3, children are invited to attend an afternoon filled with fun activities, snacks and a special book reading by acclaimed actress and children’s book author Julianne Moore in the Ralph Lauren section of the children’s department at Bloomingdale’s North Michigan Avenue. Moore will read from and sign copies of her most recent picture book, Freckleface Strawberry and the Dodgeball Bully. The reading begins at 3 p.m., and afterward children are encouraged to ask questions and get their copy of Freckleface Strawberry and the Dodgeball Bully signed by Moore.

Integrating her passion for writing with her strong desire to help others, Moore is a U. S. Ambassador for Save the Children (savethechildren.org), working with children and families in rural areas, focusing on literacy and early childhood education. Guests who purchase $75 or more of Ralph Lauren children’s merchandise on May 3 will receive a signed copy of Moore’s book as a free gift. In addition, Bloomingdale’s will donate 10% of all Ralph Lauren Childrenswear apparel sales that day to Save the Children.
