From the NWI Parent Inbox—We’re always keeping our eye on what’s new and what’s going on in Northwest Indiana. Here’s today’s submission, sent by the Indiana Youth Ballet:
The community is invited to usher in the upcoming holidays by joining the party girls and other special guests from the cast of Indiana Youth Ballet’s Nutcracker for a special character tea to be held Saturday, Nov. 7, from 2-3:30 p.m. at Bridges, Banquet Room, 121 N Griffith Blvd, Griffith. Guests will enjoy delicious food served by costumed performers and will be treated to exciting entertainment.
Seating for Clara’s Tea is limited. Tickets cost $15 each and may be purchased at the School of Indiana Youth Ballet (321 N. Colfax, Griffith) or by phone: 219.922.9331.
Clara’s Tea is a prelude to The Nutcracker, a ballet for children by children, which will be performed in Nov. at East Chicago Central High School auditorium. This holiday classic has become a tradition for families across the globe. The IYB Nutcracker continues to capture the imagination of audiences of all ages. Make both of these events your family tradition!
Nutcracker school shows will be offered on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, Nov. 17-20, at 9:30 a.m. and noon. Senior citizen groups are also invited to attend these shows. School show tickets are still available and may be purchased by calling 219.922.9331.
Public shows will be performed on Saturday, Nov. 21, at 2:00 and 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 22, at 2:00 p.m. Ticket cost is $15 and may be purchased by calling the School of Indiana Youth Ballet at 219.922.9331.
