We often go out to eat for Valentine’s, but now this year. I’m recovering from wisdom teeth removal, and we don’t feel like spending the money. Maybe we’ll go out for his birthday — it’s two weeks away.

He bought me a box of Hershey’s turtles. But what I think he forgot was that when he buys me a box of Fannie May Pixies, he gets about 3 months worth of “good husband” points.

One year he gave me an engagement ring. I guess that scored him points! But it wasn’t so much that it was Valentine’s Day. It was that I had just moved from another state to move in with him and I was cooking a very fancy 5 course meal in my (his) new kitchen. I slaved all day long while he had been out of town. When he called to say he was on his way back, I said that the romantic thing would be to pick up some flowers. Little did I know that he had an engagement ring that he had designed and had been waiting to give me.

Now we always go out for some raw oysters & a martini for valentines night and then we go out on Saturday night to a new restaurant that we have always wanted to try but was out of the everyday budget!

I left my husband’s v-day card on the coffee maker his first stop in the morning…he left me one there too! When I read it I couldn’t understand it at first and then I realized that he was being funny and her got me a card from our cat!

I called him at work once I got to the office and to tell him he made me laugh out loud and I couldn’t believe that they actually sell cards from cats…he said he couldn’t resist! Then he asked me how i liked the one he got me…and I said I didn’t find it! He said what you didn’t open the lap top this morning. I didn’t I did laundry, dishes and some quick housework before i left instead. I am looking forward to reading it tonight and to my oysters and martini!
