Birds of a Feather

As much as I love diversity in friendships, and have learned so much by observing other parenting styles, I often long to:
live in a commune with likeminded people
with similar views about God, and country, and parenting,
breastfeeding, co-sleeping, taking care of our bodies, the earth,
each other.
Even if it was for a short while, just to be around a group with no outside judgments
or comments, or digs
at the way I choose to do things,
to be with hearts that truly understand, and guide me when I have questions, or ask questions along with me
so we can seek out the answers together
And live in peace
and look at each other with mercy
and kindness.
It’s easy to find “your tribe” or people with the same View, on the Internet. But how about in person? It can get lonely, in real life. Do you stand up for what you believe, and raise your shoulders tall behind the way you do the things you do? Are you just getting by? Are you just going with the flow? Would you move away to be closer to a group of like-minded individuals?
(I am asking myself these very questions.)
