Time Stood Still
By Stephanie Precourt
I took the elevator up to the children’s books section at the library. I noticed the Friends of the Library was open- a huge room filled with organized categories of books for sale at awesome prices- like from 25 cents to two dollars each.
I found myself cross-legged on the floor between the stacks, skimming titles that I could read at bedtime to the boys, books at Noah and Carter’s reading level, young adult fiction that took me wayyyy back.
Time stood still.
My arms were full, overflowing!
I walked out with a huge paper shopping bag with handles FULL of books- for only $7.

I plan to go back and splurge on several antique hardbacks to fill our downstairs book shelf.
It’s been four weeks today that we canceled our cable and haven’t watched TV! A renewed hunger for books has fallen upon our house. I love it.
