Today we heard via @nwi on Twitter that the Valpo Fire Department was making Tower Park into a spray park, so we headed over there after dropping Noah off at theatre camp for the afternoon. It was super fun and refreshing. I wish they could do this at every park all summer long!

We’ve been making the most out of every single moment the sun is up these final days of summer vacation.

The beach is our friend, we were there Monday night and will be there again tonight. I was thinking about taking the kids to see The Zookeeper at the 49er tomorrow night… but haven’t done the Drive In in, well like, forever. How do you do it with the kids? How early to you need to get there? Do you stay in the car the whole time? Do you sit out on chairs? Do you sit in the back of your car? Are the mosquitoes bad? Can you hear the movie well? Someone with experience please fill me in!

The Festival of the Lakes in Hammond is going on all week as well as the Porter County Fair- starting tomorrow! I think we’re going to be on the square downtown Valpo for the free outdoor concert this Saturday, too. So much to do!
