158th Porter County Fair

She's a lifetime Porter County resident who has made attending the Porter County Fair part of her summertime activities for years. steph Haleigh Yergler of Kouts is the 2008 Porter County Fair Queen. She is sponsored by the Valparaiso Rotary Club, Yergler is a 2007 graduate Kouts High School. She attends Purdue University with a major in elementary education. She has been involved in 4-H for 10 years and served on the Porter County Livestock Judging Team for three years, student council, cross country, basketball, track, cheerleading, pom pom squad, and leadership organizations. She has won many 4-H awards and scholarships. Her favorite part of the fair is “witnessing hard-working kids exhibiting their talents and enjoying the fruits of their labor with their families.” Her plans for the future are to work as an elementary school teacher and obtain a master’s degree in school counseling.

steph Lori Neumeier is a long time fair aficionado. She is Director of the Miss Porter County Fair Queen Pageant, as well as a former pageant contestant. Her hard work and dedication don't stop with the pageant, as she is also Director of the Free Entertainment at the fair and can be seen working on fair projects throughout the year.
