Anna Parker recently joined DeSCo as director of Marketing Services. Parker is a graduate of Goshen College in Goshen and comes to DeSCo with experience in marketing and communications with special strengths in video production. DeSCo is a Valparaiso-based firm specializing in marketing, business consulting, economic development and energy services.
Dr. Rashmi Aggarwal, MD, board certified in pediatrics with a subspecialty in neonatal-perinatal medicine, has joined Saint Margaret Mercy’s department of pediatrics. Her office is in Hammond.
Dr. Robert E. Applebaum, with board certifications in surgery and thoracic surgery, has joined Saint Margaret Mercy’s department of surgery. His office is in Blue Island.
Dr. Deepak K. Ariga, with board certififications in internal medicine and infectious disease, has joined Saint Margaret Mercy’s department of internal medicine. His office is in Hammond.
Dr. Mohan K. Kesani, board certified internal medicine with a subspecialty in cardiovascular disease, has joined Saint Margaret Mercy’s department of internal medicine. His office is in Munster.
Dr. Rajesh N. Keswani, board certified in Internal Medicine, has joined Saint Margaret Mercy’s department of internal medicine. His office is in Hammond.
Sarah Higley has been added to the outpatient clinical staff at the Porter-Starke Services, Inc.'s Chesterton office. Higley has more than 10 years of clinical experience in the mental health field. She previously headed the psychology department at the Indiana State Prison offering individual therapy and crisis intervention.
Katherine Garza Bishko has joined Barnes & Thornburg LLP as an associate in the firm’s South Bend office. She practices in the litigation department. Bishko graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English and anthropology magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame. She received her law degree from the University of Notre Dame, where she was a Law School Fellow.
Chris Leininger has been named general manager for the casino at French Lick Springs Resort & Casino. Leininger was most recently the general manager for Trump Casino and Hotel in Gary.
Leininger brings 16 years of gaming experience to his new role. In addition to his time with the Trump organization, he has also served as vice president of finance for Harrah’s Casino and Hotel in East Chicago and was part of the successful opening team for Blue Chip Casino in Michigan City as the director of finance.
Dr. Surjit Patheja was awarded “The Jim Hartung Award” by the Northwest Indiana World Trade Council for lifetime achievement in promoting international awareness in NWI through his involvement and commendable support in various organizations.
Dr. Gideon Falk was recognized with “The Lund Ambassador Award” for long commitment and contribution to the Northwest Indiana World Trade Council.
Marshal Bundren, the Chaplain at the Port, was awarded “The Bridges to Business Award” for humanitarian activities, building bridges between NWI and the world.
Dan Moser, senior vice president of construction and development lending at Peoples Bank, received the 2005 FHLBI Community Spirit Award from the The Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis.
