Danielewski goes yard in Rebel win

Susie Danielewski hit a homer and drove in three runs while Samantha Sciackitano had a triple, scoring twice and plating two in the Rebels' (8-2, 4-0 SICA South) 10-0 softball rout over Bloom. Jaynie Danielewski picked up the win, her sixth of the season, while striking out 11 and only allowing one hit.

De La Salle 10, Gordon Tech 0: Kayla Ortiz and Alex Chanes hit homers for the Meteors (2-4) in the five-inning win. Ortiz went 3-for-3, driving in three runs. Corinne Coats struck out five in the compete-game shutout.

Beecher 9, Grant Park 1: Alex Lagesse struck out 16 and only allowed two hits in the Ladycats (8-3) win. Lagesse also had two doubles at the plate.

Baseball

Mt. Carmel 6, Fenwick 1: Kyler Kopach went 2-for-3 with a home run and a double, scored twice and drove in three runs to lead the Caravan (8-3, 1-0 Catholic League Blue) in the win. Mike Vlamis added a double and run and Chris Heaney scored once and drove in a run. Kevin Johnson improved his record to 4-1, pitching the complete game.

Donovan 9, Illinois Lutheran 1: Dave McNeil had the only hit for Illinois Lutheran, a double, as the Cavaliers dropped to 0-3 in the River Valley Conference and 2-4 overall.

Seton Academy 13, Hales Franciscan 3: Steven Jackson struck out 11 from the mound and drove in two from the plate to lead the Sting in the five-inning rout. Jordan Jones scored four runs, Ramone Griffith and Julian Griffith added three each.

T.F. South 8, Bloom Twp. 3: Eric Meyerchick pitched five innings, striking out 10 and hit a two-run home run for the Rebels. David Sindewald picked up the win as TF South scored five runs in the top of the seventh inning.
