The Valparaiso Lions Club will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 2 at Phil B's Restaurant, 9087 Roosevelt Road. The speaker will be Judge David Chidester who'll talk about his experiences with the Porter County Superior Court System.

DOLLS AND BEARS | Valparaiso
Valparaiso Dolls & Friends presents 14th annual Doll & Teddy Bear Show and Sale is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 7 at the Porter County Expo Center.
Admission is $5. There will be more than 100 tables of dealers with all kinds of dolls from antique to modern and lots of bears. Proceeds benefit local, regional and national charities.

An All American blood drive is set for 2:30-5:30 p.m. Aug. 29 at Miller's Senior Living Community, 5911 Lute Road. All presenting donors will receive a T-shirt. FALL STORYTIME | South Haven
Fall storytime session at the South Haven Public Library begins Sept. 16 at the library, 403 W. County Road 700 North. Storytime is at 10:15 a.m. for toddlers ages 2 and 3 and at 11 a.m. for preschoolers ages 4 and 5. Children will read book and participate in crafts and games based on various themes. PORK FEST KICK OFF | Kouts
Kick off the Pork Fest from 6 to 9 tonight with the 6th annual Music in the Park(ing lot). Enjoy a variety of family music in the parking lot at St. Mary Catholic Church on Ind. 8, just east of Ind. 40. There will be live music with local talent including Katie Marak and Samantha Moore. GYMNASTICS CLASSES
Enrollment for general gymnastics classes at Valparaiso High School will be from 5:30 to 6 p.m. Ag. 26 in the fieldhouse. Classes for students age 5 and older will be held at 5:30 or 6:30 p.m. Mondays or Tuesdays. The session of 7 classes has a fee of $35 and will run from Sept. 2 through Oct. 28.

The Valparaiso Noon Kiwanis Club will hold a barbecue chicken dinner from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Sept. 4 at the Popcorn Fest Tent behind City Hall. GREEK FEST | Valparaiso
St. Iakovos Greek Church will hold its annual Greek Fest from 11 a.m.m to 10 p.m. Aug. 23 and 24 at the Porter County Expo center. It will feature shish-ka-bob, lamb, Greek chicken and gyros dinners along with Greek sausage and other Greek foods. there will be a Greek bakery and a live Greek band. admission is free. NORTHWEST INDIANA PAGAN PRIDE DAY | Portage
Local pagans, followers of nature- or earth-centered pre-Christian religions, will gather from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 23 at Woodland Park, 2100 Willowcreek Road, for a day of faith and festivities. The festival includes vendors, information booths, workshops, children's events, a food drive to benefit the greater community and a harvest ritual. Admission to the festival is free. The public is invited. Donations of nonperishable items for the food drive will be accepted. The Northwest Indiana festival is organized by Portage Pagan Pride, Inc., the Northwest Indiana Pagan Association and Wolves Den, and is part of the international Pagan Pride Project. Portage Pagan Pride, Inc., founded in 2008, is a local chapter of the international Pagan Pride Project. The Pagan Pride Project, founded in 1998, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the advancement of religion and elimination of prejudice and discrimination based on religious beliefs.

NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH | Portage
The Portage Police Department is seeking residents who wish to start Neighborhood Watch programs in their neighborhoods. Interested residents should contact Sgt. Keith Hughes, and he will provide them with an informational booklet about the program and compile a list of participants for future meetings.
