BLOOD DRIVE | Crown Point

A Heartland Blood Center blood drive will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Sept. 25 at Crown Point Fire Rescue, 126 North East St. Call to schedule an appointment; walk-ins are also welcome. Every donor will receive a gift card with five free music downloads.

FREE PROGRAMS | Munster

The Cancer Resource Centre offers free education programs and support groups for those with a cancer diagnosis and their families at 900 Ridge Road, Suite J. Call to register for any educational or networking group.

* 10 a.m. Monday and 6:15 p.m. Wednesday is Yoga. For beginners or accomplished meditators.

* 5:30 p.m. Monday is Empowerment Drumming. Drumming has been found to reduce stress, increase energy and overall well being. No previous music experience necessary.

* 6 p.m. Tuesday is the Blood Cancers Support Group.

* 10 a.m. Wednesday Healing Hearts Grief Support Group.

* 9:30 a.m. Wednesday is Enjoy the benefits of a 15 minute chair massage! Massage will physically relax the body, reduce mental stress, anxiety and may promote better sleep. A prescription is required from your physician prior to attending.

* 2 p.m. Wednesday is Look Good…Feel Better. This program is for women undergoing chemotherapy and/or radiation. Session will include skin, nail care and makeup advice. Klassic Wraps, Inc. and Bunny’s Beaute Salon demonstrate working with scarves, headwraps and wigs. Seating is limited.

* 10 a.m. Thursday is Chi Gong, the precursor of Tai Chi.

* 5 p.m. Thursday is Reiki is a technique that aids the body in releasing stress and tension by creating deep relaxation and inner balance. Reiki restores energy, balance and vitality. A prescription is required from your physician prior to attending.

* 9:30 a.m. Friday is Tai Chi, the art is considered "meditation in motion."

EDUCATE BEFORE YOU VACCINATE SEMINAR | Hobart

2 p.m. Oct. 12 at the Paragon Restaurant Banquet Center,1701 E. 37th Ave. Food will be available to purchase. 5TH ANNUAL “ROMP & ROLL” | Munster

The Cancer Resource Centre has begun planning for its 5th annual event - 1 or 2.5 mile family-style Walk and a 5k Fun Run. Registration is at noon with the walk and fun run at 1 p.m. Oct. 5 at Munster High School Football Field. Registration begins at noon. T-shirts for all participants turning in a minimum $25 donation. Picnic for all after the celebratory Walk/Fun Run. Awards for teams and individuals raising most donations. Time to form your teams n individual walkers and runners welcome, too.

VENDORS NEEDED | Munster

To provide free promotional items at the Cancer Resource Centre’s 5th annual “Romp & Roll” family-style Walk/Fun Run on Oct. 5, 2008. A $100 donation/fee is required. More than 1200 walkers and runners will be part of the event from noon to 3 p.m. at the Munster High School Football Area. Space is limited. The service available 24 hours a day at MethodistHospitals' Web site allows people access to pay medical bills online,create online accounts, develop payment plans, and view financialassistance options. The self-serve billing office provides flexibilityand convenience for patients, particularly those unable to reach thebilling office during business hours.
