EUROPEAN MARKET | Chesterton

8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays through October at 220 Broadway. Visit an outdoor market featuring cheese, sausage, artisan breads, local wines, bakery goods, farm fresh produce, personal-care products, jewelry, clothing, accessories, pottery, pet boutique and international foods. Free admission.

FARMERS MARKET | Valparaiso

The Valparaiso Farmers Market new "home" is in the city parking lot located on the corner of Indiana and Lafayette Streets, next door to Greek’s Pizzeria. The market will be open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays through October. New this season will be fresh Pierogi from Nina’s Fresh Pierogi.

FARMERS MARKET | Flossmoor

The Flossmoor farmers market is from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fridays through Oct. 26 behind the new library at 1000 Sterling Ave.  Featured items are Illinois and Michigan grown fruits and vegetables, flowers and plants, fresh Labriola breads and pastries, honey, all natural skin care products, Homemade Gourmet and a wide selection of olives, giardiniera and oils. They are still accepting vendors.

FARMERS MARKET | Schererville

The town of Schererville will host an international market from 3 to 8 p.m. every other Thursday, through Oct. 25, in the south parking lot at Redar Park, weather permitting. Plants as well as fresh produce from area farms and craft items will be sold. In addition, international food will be sold and local entertainment will be provided.

FARMERS MARKET | Whiting

Farm-fresh produce is available from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays through Oct. 13 on 119th Street in front of City Hall. Find Indiana-grown fruits and vegetables. Aunt Josie's sells homemade Amish goods such as apple and pear butter, jams and jellies, homemade noodles, honey, bee pollen, maple syrup, Amish church butter and homemade toys, tote bags and crafts.

FARMERS MARKET | Chesterton, Furnessville

10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays at the Schoolhouse Shop, 278 E. 1500 North, featuring plants, seasonal fruit and veggies, some organic and better crafts. Located on the west side of the Schoolhouse Shop.

FARMERS MARKET | Griffith

A farmers market is open from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays at Griffith Izaak Walton League of America, 1532 E. Main St. Vendors include coffee, honey, flowers, meats and others. More vendors are welcome. Booths are offered free although donations are accepted. Setup time is 3 p.m. The farmers market will continue until the end of the growing season.

FARMERS MARKET | Crown Point

Crown Point Farmers’ Market will be open for the season 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. through October on South Main Street between Hack Court and Walnut. This season’s vendors will be selling fresh produce, organic herbs and produce, farm fresh certified eggs, doggie treats, aromatic coffee, landscaping and garden material, baked goods, Tastefully Simple, soy gourmet bath products, candles and other unique items. Art Handley and Friends will be playing live music. Sanctioned as a Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program through the Indiana State Department of Health’s WIC program, the market is seeking WIC participating growers. FARMERS MARKET | Thornton

The Village of Thornton farmers market and craft show will take place from noon to 7 p.m. every Wednesday, June 13 to Oct. 3, at the corner of Hubbard and Margaret streets. They are still accepting applications from farmers and crafters.

Crete European Market is from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays, through Oct. 20, at Main and Exchange streets. The outdoor market specializes in fresh and gourmet breads, foods and flowers.
