SCOUTING THE NEW PRAIRIE CROSS COUNTRY SEMISTATE

Where: New Prairie High School

Advancement: The top six teams and 15 individuals advance to the state finals Nov. 1 in Terre Haute.

Fast facts: The second through eighth finishers return in the girls race, led by Valpo's Ranegar. Lake Central is the defending girls champion. Oak Hill's Balser (third) is the top returning boy, followed by LaPorte's Miller (sixth) and Culver Academy's Arroyo (ninth). LaPorte edged McCutcheon 74-78 for the team title a year ago.
