U.S. Sen. Barack Obama will return to Northwest Indiana on Friday for a rally at Wicker Memorial Park in Highland, according to a news release from his campaign.

Secret Service agents had been scouting sites in four Lake County communities, including Gary and Hammond, according to their mayors.

The Democratic presidential candidate's most recent stop in Indiana was Oct. 23 -- a rally in downtown Indianapolis.

Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is scheduled to appear Wednesday night at a rally in downstate Jefferson while Obama's running mate, Joe Biden, is set to campaign Saturday in Evansville.

Then the Dems like Obama, Chris Dodd, Franklin Raines and Bwany Frank would not listen to McCains warnings about the economy and Freddie/Fannie.
They told us all (see the videos on youtube) that everything is OK, don't worry.

They were wrong and now the Democrat failed policies are ruining the economy. "

How much of our spending has gone into unused product while soldiers went years improperly protected in Iraq. Less than 7% of our spending goes to non military international investment, yet General Petraeus' main strategy recognizes the benefit of improved economies and education in dangerous areas. That 700 billion isn't going to 'boots on the ground', or single expenditure aircraft or naval equipment. It's ongoing, relatively unchecked expenditure. Tell the Russians how grateful to the Americans they should be. Tell the Chinese and Japanese. These nations don't view us as WWII saviors. These are the people who will be our adversaries in the future. They'll fight their wars through Iran, Pakistan, South America, Africa where big and scary America will be less successful than an America that offers economic opportunity and global vision. Rome was defeated by a band of "barbarians" in a forest in Germany. Rome's military superiority became the victim of their pride. "

This has to be the scariest time of everyone's life to believe that a young organizer has the experience to rule this country. " Obama started by saying he would not raise taxes on those making under $300 thousand. Then he lowered it to $250 thousand, then $200 thousand. Then the other day Joe Biden let it slip that the new tax limit is $150 thousand per family. And we know Obama voted to increase taxes on everyone who makes over $42 thousand.

Like Clinton, Obama lies on taxes. Clinton promised a middle class tax cut too, remember? Then when he got into office, he laughed at us and said "oh that was just campaign rhetoric, I am imposing a retroactive tax INCREASE on the middle class!".
Obama will do the same.

Also, Obama will raise taxes on small businesses which will kill jobs, and they will pass along the tax in the form of higher prices. So Obama's socialist tax increases will hit us all. "

They could have waited until later, they could have done this another day. But they don't care about the common working man like Joe the Plumber, they will illegally investigate his personal information using state computers, now they are throwing the kids of Highland under the bus.

This is over the top. It really has exposed Obama's callous disregard for kids. First he votes against providing medical care for live born children after a botched abortion, now he makes the decision to stomp all over the kids of Highland.

If this is any indication of the bad decision making and callous disregard for working Americans, we are in for a disaster if he ever gains power. His mistakes on the surge, and his waffling and inaction on the economy were early indicators, but this arrogant rally is the last straw. "

And yes I do blame the Republicans for forcing this nation's citizens to consider personal moral issues a matter of national importance while at the same time encouraging people to practice mindless greed and materialism for the, now obvious, benefit of the few, extremely wealthy. Many have sold this country for a 52 inch flat screen and a pick-up truck. Few want to acknowledge it. In the coming months, regardless who get elected, I'll have to put up with the reality of being less well off, after years of careful spending and saving, than those I've just complained about. I'm voting for Obama based on the simple belief that he's a man more like myself than McCain is. Just because McCain happens to share my skin pigment doesn't mean he shares my values. In fact, as his choice of running mate and constant subtle implication that people like me are foolish or worse, he seems a cynical and dangerous individual. "

So we get rid of the crooks on the local level only to vote one into the biggest and most important office in the country right? Hmmm… sounds kinda dumb if you ask me. Remember Obama is a lawyer and I never met an honest, trustworthy lawyer. No thanks! I will be voting Red all the way around "

" For you smart people out there still saying... we're not a socialist country, what do you call social security? A country with a social program in a mixed economy is a socialist country. Lets say we do away with social security, how about public roads, who needs them right? public education? naaa it's for the birds. Police? who needs them when we have our own guns. Sounds like a country i'd want to live in, oh wait... I think there are countries in Africa that have none of those things, maybe you guys should move there. "

Heres some questions wrote on Oct 29, 2008 10:32 AM:

" All you Pro-McCain people... Do you know what the term socialism means? Do you know that we are a socialist country? Are you one of the fools that confuse socialism and communism?

All you Pro-Life people... How can you sleep at night knowing that you stand for the life of a baby and yet once it's born you wash your hands of it. Does God have a spot closer for you because you got a child to live, then because it needed a simple procedure, and the mother couldn't afford it, the baby died? I think in the business world we call that dropping the ball. "

" I am a republican (always have been), however, I have voted for Barack Obama in this election. John McCain had a chance with me until he made his "maverick" decision to add Sarah Palin to the ticket. McCain is in his 70's with lingering health issues, so I must look at Palin and ask myself, "can she lead this country?" My answer is an absolute NO! McCain went for the shock and awe factor when he chose her. Obama is well educated, rational and level-headed. Will he be the perfect President? No, but on the issues, he best represents me and my family's best interests. Go Obama! "

" To all of the McCain Supporters: Ever think about how much McCain talks about his War battles? Well have you stopped for a second to look at your own war that you are fighting everyday? You are fighting everyday when you have to go to work, but have a big chuck of your check go to the oil companies and other big businesses that McCain supports. You as well as myself have worked hard to get to where we are. Stop the disrespect towards Obama. You don't have to like him, but at least he has ideas and morals to not only stop the war in IRAQ, but also in your own homes and bank accounts. "

" This is fantastic. We need a President that knows what it is like to have to work in order to have a good life; not a McCain who has never had to "want" for anything. Oh and let's not forget about Cindy McCain who is filthy RICH. McCain doesn't care about our issues, money problems or our futures. You are fools if you think he does. His motto isn't Country First, it's "Let's the Rich stay Rich" First in this Country! "

Question for him wrote on Oct 29, 2008 9:44 AM:

" the question of whether Mr. Obama can in good faith take the presidential oath to "preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution" as he must do if he is to take office. Does Mr. Obama support the Constitution as it is written, or does he support amendments to guarantee welfare? Is his provision of a "tax cut" to millions of Americans who currently pay no taxes merely a foreshadowing of constitutional rights to welfare, health care, Social Security, vacation time and the redistribution of wealth? Perhaps the candidate ought to be asked to answer these questions before the election rather than after. "
