MERRILLVILLE | The leadership team being assembled by Methodist Hospitals Chief Executive Officer Ian McFadden added new members this week.
Tony Jones, formerly the president of Atlanta-based VSE Healthcare Partners, was named vice president of operations.
Michele Major, formerly chief nursing officer of Community Hospital in Munster, was named chief nursing officer at Methodist.
They join Loren Chandler, named chief financial officer in October.
McFadden took the Methodist helm in September, continuing a career built on turning around troubled health care facilities. The hospital system has campuses in Gary and Merrillville.
Jones' former post at VSE Healthcare Partners involved providing consulting services to financially distressed institutions.
Jones also formerly was president of St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit and executive vice president and chief operating officer at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
Major, a long-time nursing professional, previously was chief nursing officer at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago and manager of health resources at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago.
