A Dallas-based company is holding a live auction Friday that includes more than 40 pieces of Michael Jackson memorabilia including costumes, autographed album copies and written lyrics from a journal.

Doug Norwine, director of music and entertainment for Heritage Auction Galleries, said 44 lots of Jackson and Jackson family pieces are available as part of a two-day auction of memorabilia from figures in entertainment and 20th century icons.

Items available include a signed copy of Jackson's "Thriller" album, a Jackson sketch of his sister La Toya and stage costumers worn by siblings Marlon, Janet, Jermaine and Jackie. Estimated opening bids for the album is $600. The picture's estimated bid is $3,000, and the stage costumes range from $500 to $2,000. Norwine said the merchandise estimates are "low and conservative" and minimum bids on the merchandise already exceed estimates.

After registering on the auction's Web site, http://www.ha.com, people can register to place bids on items through 10 p.m. tonight before the live auction begins at 1 p.m. Friday. Bids can be made during the actual auction, which will be shown through a Web cast.

Norwine said the auction company has sold Jackson merchandise prior to the upcoming auction, but admitted the value of the items have increased since his death.

In addition to Jackson merchandise, the company says the auction will also feature a total of more than 1,400 lots, including a newspaper signed by former President John F. Kennedy and a rocking chair that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. owned.
