IndyCar fans can enjoy race video and monitor what's happening live at the track right in the palm of their hands. The Indy Racing League is launching the IndyCar application for iPhone and iPod touch users. The application was developed in partnership with mobile media company July Systems.

Cereplast searches for Seymour partner

California-based Cereplast Inc. says it is looking for a manufacturing partner to help open its facility in Seymour. The bio-based, sustainable plastics company has unveiled a new strategic plan that involves manufacturing supply agreements with larger firms. The move has prompted the delay of start-up plans at Seymour. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Frederic Scheer tells Inside INdiana Business the company remains committed to Indiana and hopes to land a partner this summer.

Muncie-Delaware Co. Chamber names new president, CEO

A veteran of economic development positions in east central Indiana has been hired as the new president and chief executive officer of the Muncie-Delaware County Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Alliance. Jay Julian currently serves as the executive director of development services for the city of Marion and has held a similar position in Anderson. He beat out more than 80 candidates from 25 states for the position. Julian begins his new position July 1.

Marion County summer youth programs to get boost

Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard has announced this year's recipients of the Summer Youth Program Fund. The city is awarding more than $100,000 in community block grants to 12 local agencies. The funds will provide opportunities for nearly 1,500 youth to participate in recreational, cultural and educational activities.

IU, AT&T Strike Blackberry Deal

A new collaboration among Indiana University, AT&T Inc. and Blackberry manufacturer Research in Motion Limited will help what the university calls its enterprise-wide mobility strategy. The deal will help IU develop applications such as a course management system that can be used on mobile devices, such as a Blackberry. IU says it is the first such agreement between AT&T and a university.

Summer conventions to boost Lake County economy

Lake County says its economy will experience a significant boost when the area hosts more than 10,000 visitors during several summer conventions. The South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority estimates the events will pump more than $1.8 million into the area economy. Organizations planning conventions in Lake County over the next few months include The Salvation Army, the National United Merchant Beverage Association and the Great Lakes Shriners.

Canada approves Cook product for market

Bloomington-based Cook Medical has been authorized to market its Zenith TX2 TAA Endovascular Graft in Canada. The product is now available in more than 60 markets. The company says sales of the endograft have increased every month since it received FDA clearance in June 2008.

Survey to analyze state's manufacturing industry

Indianapolis-based accounting firm Katz, Sapper & Miller LLP is launching a survey <<a href="http://www.ksmcpa.com/">http://www.ksmcpa.com/> to analyze trends and best practices in Indiana's manufacturing industry. The goal is to offer information to help manufacturers measure their progress and innovation. Survey results and analysis will be distributed this fall.

Business students to embark on First Study Abroad Program

A group from the IU Kelley School of Business Indianapolis will travel to France this weekend for the school's first undergraduate study abroad program in Strasbourg. Students and advisors will tour companies, visit the European government and cultural institutions and hear presentations by European Union experts.

Rose-Hulman unveils RISE participants

Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology has announced nine Vigo County high school students selected for its new Recruitment Into Science and Engineering (RISE) leadership and mentorship program. It was developed through a grant from the Department of Education to encourage more student participation in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) areas.
