Gov. Mitch Daniels will be in South Bend today to join technology executives for a research and development announcement at the University of Notre Dame. The Indiana Economic Development Corp. says Purdue University officials along with representatives from Notre Dame and IBM will also attend.

Amstutz to serve as council president, CEO

The Indiana Humanities Council has announced a new president and chief executive officer. Keira Amstutz will move into the posts starting April 14. She has served in various cultural and political capacities in Indianapolis. She was most recently chief counsel and director of public policy for the City of Indianapolis.

Presidential candidates concentrate on Indiana

The Democratic Presidential candidates are increasing their focus on Indiana as the state's primary approaches. U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., ill be back in Indiana on Friday. The visit will follow a couple of campaign swings through the state on her behalf by her husband, President Bill Clinton. Democratic candidate Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., has announced the key officials for his Indiana effort.

WellPoint: Some plans will cover Treanda

Indianapolis-based WellPoint Inc. has announced that it will provide benefits for the medication Treanda for those with health plans that have specialty drug coverage. The decision follows the federal government's decision to grant the drug orphan status for the treatment of chronic lymphocytic leukemia. That form of leukemia is the second most common type of leukemia in adults.

Potholes among Road School discussion topics

About 1,500 transportation officials from around the state will attend the 94th annual Purdue University Road School Tuesday through Thursday. Attendees will hear from a transportation official involved in the response to the massive bridge collapse in Minneapolis last year. Road School Co-Chairman Kumares Sinha says there will also be discussion on a topic on many motorists' minds: potholes.
