Food 4 Less stores in Illinois and Indiana have removed from sale all store-brand beef products supplied by JBS Swift Beef Co., which on June 28 expanded its recall of beef that may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7.
Food for Less is asking customers to check their freezers at home for certain packages of store-brand and store-packaged ground beef with sell-by dates from April 27 to June 1, 2009. It is important to know that none of these items are in Food 4 Less stores today.
Customers who have the recalled items should not consume them and may return them to Food 4 Less for a full refund or replacement.
The items are ground beef 15% with UPC codes of 21165850000, 21165860000, 21165870000 and 21165880000.
Customers with questions may call (800) 632-6900. Information about the JBS Swift Beef Co. recalls online at www.fsis.usda.gov.
