Entrepreneur workshop slated for Tuesday

The Purdue University Calumet Center for Entrepreneurship Success and the Indiana Small Business Development Center will host a business feasibility workshop from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Academic Learning Center, 9900 Connecticut Drive.

This workshop will help determine if prospective entrepreneurs are ready for the challenge of business ownership.

SBA seeks business award nominations

The SBA Indiana District Office is accepting nominations for the "District Minority Small Business Person of the Year Award." All nominations must be received at the local office by July 11.

To be eligible the small business must be at least 51 percent owned and controlled by one or more socially and economically disadvantaged individuals. Small business must have been in business for three years.

The SBA Indiana District Office will host a 26th annual National Minority Enterprise Development Week celebration where the winner will be honored.

Bancorp declares quarterly cash dividend

CFS Bancorp Inc.'s Board of Directors recently announced a quarterly cash dividend of 12 cents per share on common stock. The dividend will be paid to stockholders of record at the close of business July 3.

The company has paid a cash dividend each quarter since its initial public offering in July 1998. CFS is the parent of Citizens Financial Bank, a $1.2 billion asset federal savings bank which has 22 offices in the Chicago area and in Northwest Indiana.
