Ball State University President Jo Ann Gora and Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard have been chosen members of the Executive Committee for the 2008 Indianapolis Prize. The $100,000 Indianapolis Prize is the world's largest monetary award for animal conservation. The 2008 recipient will be announced later this year.

Purdue president to address Economic Club

The president of Purdue University will address the Economic Club of Indiana at a luncheon today at the Indiana Convention Center. France Córdova's presentation is entitled, "Purdue: A Global University for Indiana." Purdue will host Córdova's inauguration in April, which will include convocation focusing on the global university concept.

Chinese delegation to visit Indiana

The School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University is helping coordinate a visit today by a delegation of national and local government officials from the People's Republic of China. The visit will focus on public management reform in the United States. The delegation is scheduled to meet with officials from the State of Indiana and the City of Indianapolis.

XM to continue as satellite network

XM Satellite Radio has announced that it will be the official satellite radio network of the Indy Racing League for the fourth straight year. XM will begin its coverage with the GAINSCO Auto Insurance Indy 300, broadcast from the Homestead-Miami Speedway, March 29. The broadcast schedule includes the 92nd Indianapolis 500 May 25.

IndyGo to provide assistance to IMS

IndyGo will meet with officials from private charter companies next week to provide guidance on transportation to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for race events this summer. IndyGo will discuss services and tips for operating shuttles to and from the track.

United Way to celebrate 90 years

The United Way of Central Indiana will celebrate 90 years of service on March 12. An event at the Indiana Roof Ballroom in Indianapolis will include a report on progress toward United Way's community priorities and recognition of outstanding corporate supporters. New officers and board members will also be elected at the event.
