Don't be surprised if you notice an abundance of military personnel enjoying their Independence Day with a coffee and donut in hand.
On July 4, all military personnel who present their military ID will be served a free medium hot or iced coffee and a donut at select Dunkin' Donuts in Chicago Heights and Northwest Indiana.
"This is our way of showing that we care and support the soldiers and all military personnel who serve our country," said Taru Patel, who owns the seven participating Dunkin' Donuts. "We are deeply thankful and look forward to serving our military with free coffee and a donut."
Dunkin' Donuts Midwest Field Marketing Manager Kathy Nowicki said the promotion is a great way to honor the troops that are giving back to the country.
"Taru is an excellent citizen; this is the type of thing she would do," Nowicki said.
Hobart High School JROTC instructor and army veteran Leo Marshall said it's a great way to show support for those who've served their country.
"It shows how much they care and appreciate soldiers, sailors and airmen and everything they've done," Marshall said.
The participating Dunkin' Donuts locations are: 1126 N. Main St., Crown Point; 2050 W. 81st Ave., Merrillville; 8235 Calumet Ave., Munster; 9228 Indianapolis Blvd., Highland; 1695 U.S. Route 45, Schererville; 9405 Wicker Ave., St. John; and 3225 Chicago Rd., Chicago Heights.
The offer is available all day, July 4.
