INDIANAPOLIS

Ivy Tech Community College's bond rating raised

Ivy Tech Community College has received an AA- rating from Standard & Poor's Ratings, as well as an AA- rating from Fitch Ratings.

The AA- rating reflects Ivy Tech's continued state support strong system-wide enrollment growth, with estimated full-time equivalent of 49,445 students in the 2007-08 academic year, a 118 percent increase from the 1997-98 academic year; and Ivy Tech's large system, with a network of 14 regions and 23 campuses.

"We are honored to receive such positive ratings from two prestigious organizations," said Ivy Tech President Thomas J. Snyder.

Ivy Tech Community College, which has a Gary campus, is among the nation's largest singly accredited statewide community college systems and the state's second largest public post-secondary institution with more than 110,000 students enrolled annually.

Business expo to feature networking advice

A Business to Business Expo, titled, "Networking Techniques -- It's How to Grow Your Business,"

is set for 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Sept. 16. The third annual program, which is a cooperative effort of more than 16 south and southwest suburban Chicago local chambers, will take place at the Tinley Park Convention Center, Interstate 80 and Harlem Avenue.

Harvey A. Blender, Blender & Associates, and Don Jones, DRZ-Enterprises-Sandler Training, will speak at a breakout session.
