The Indiana Department of Local Government Finance on Friday will officially order a reassessment of commercial and industrial property in Gibson County. The decision not to reassess residential property follows an Aug. 13 public hearing. The DLGF also plans to have hearings in Jay, Montgomery, Pike, Sullivan and Warren counties to determine if reassessments are necessary for those areas.

World's largest biodiesel

facility opens next week

Gov. Mitch Daniels and Louis Dreyfus Commodities Chairman Robert Louis-Dreyfus will attend a ceremony Tuesday to open the new Louis Dreyfus Soybean Processing and Biodiesel plant in Claypool, Ind. The plant is expected to produce more than 80 million gallons of biodiesel per year, making it the largest in the world.

Doncasters to close

Tipton operation

Doncasters Group Limited says it plans to close its Acraline operation in Tipton, eliminating 130 jobs beginning in November. The company says it is moving the production to California to consolidate operations.

Ivy Tech-Lafayette

offers training course

Ivy Tech Community College in Lafayette is partnering with the Lafayette-West Lafayette Development Corp. to offer a training course for managers and supervisors. The course is aimed at helping leaders resolve conflict, conduct effective meetings and learn how to coach other employees.

Community Hospital

opens spine center

Community Hospital North in Indianapolis has opened the Community Spine Center. The hospital says the center was designed by physicians and nurses. The center offers services including physician triage, physical therapy, imaging and access to specialty consultations.

New SSACI

director named

David Reynolds has been named as the new executive director of the State Student Assistance Commission of Indiana. Reynolds has been working as deputy budget director for the state's budget agency. He succeeds Dennis Obergfell, who will leave the position of interim executive director to return to his duties as SSACI's deputy director. The appointment is effective Aug. 27.
