Team Chevrolet in Valparaiso announces they have a new GM World Class Technician, Jim Koopman. GM technicians must complete more than 450 hours of training to reach the status of World Class Technician.

Christina DeVoll, of Schererville, has earned a promotion to Sterling Manager as an independent Silpada Designs Representative. This title has only been achieved by about 45 women out of the more than 17,000 independent Silpada Representatives.

Dr. Anthony Levenda, orthopedic surgeon with Lakeshore Bone & Joint Institute, recently attended the 2007 Robert W. Metcalf, M.D., Memorial Arthroscopic Surgery conference in Arizona. Topics addressed at this conference arthroscopic and reconstructive shoulder and knee surgery techniques as well as ankle, foot and hip arthroscopy procedures.

Ruth VanDerVeen of Classic Journeys has earned lifetime Platinum level status, the highest level of recognition in Sandals Resorts' Certified Sandals Specialist program. She is one of only 100 travel agents in the United States to have earned this status.

Joe Panfil has been promoted to managing director of enterprise technology services at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

Julie Gaskell, of the Valparaiso Chamber of Commerce has been promoted to Director of Operations and assistant to the chamber president.

Rebecca Papamihalakis, RNC, NP, recently joined the Hammond Clinic staff. Certified as a Women's Healthcare Nurse Practitioner, she works with the OB/GYN and Family Practitioner doctors and staff, providing care and education throughout the female's intricate life cycle.

Dr. Michael Bommarito, a physician at Hammond Clinic, recently earned board certification in Critical Care Medicine and Sleep Medicine. He is also currently certified in the areas of Internal Medicine, and Pulmonary Medicine. The physician specializes in treating patients with lung and sleep disorders, as well as caring for patients in the hospital intensive care unit.
