LIRA SINGERS | Calumet City
St. Andrew the Apostle Parish presents the Lira Singers in a concert of Polish and American carols at 3 p.m. Sunday at the church, 768 Lincoln Ave. Admission is free however, a free-will collection will be taken to help defray concert expenses. Plentiful free parking is available adjacent to the church. A handicapped accessible entrance is available. The entire concert will be narrated in English, so that all can enjoy the performance. Distinguished Lira conductor, Paul Dijkstra, will conduct the performance and Lira's artistic director and general manager, Lucyna Migala of WCEV/1450 am, will serve as narrator.

JUST DANCE | Portage
Portage parks department will offer "Just Dance" for women from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Portage Yacht Club, 1370 Ind. 249. No prior dance experience is necessary. The cost is $3. Participants should wear comfortable clothes and bring water. Other dates for "Just Dance" will be Feb. 3, March 2, April 6 and May 4.

Fred Schmidt American Legion Post 20 and Auxiliary Unit 20 will serve the breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. today at the post home, 1401 N. Main St. All-you-can-eat pancakes, sausage, eggs, biscuits and gravy, juice, coffee and milk cost $6 for adults, $5 for veterans and seniors 55 and older and $3 for children 6 to 15.

TWELFTH NIGHT | Whiting
The City of Whiting, the Whiting Parks and Recreation Department and the Chamber of Commerce will host a Twelfth Night celebration at 6 p.m. Sunday in the lot next to Whiting Park at the 117th Street entrance. It is the traditional closing of the Christmas season. Whiting residents can put their trees in the alley, and the Street Department will take them to the bonfire site. Neighboring residents may take their trees to the lot any time prior to the ceremony. All are invited to participate in the bonfire, caroling and free refreshments.

MILITARY SHOW | Crown Point
Calumet Region Military Show is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at the Lake County Fairgrounds, 889 S. Court St. The show features items from all eras. Dealers will buy, sell, trade and appraise relics of all types. Tables cost $25 for the public, $22 for veterans; additional tables cost $20. Dealer setup is at 7 a.m. Admission is $4, and parking is free. The next show is April 5.
