VALE FINE ARTS | Valparaiso

The 5th annual Vale Fine Arts Festival is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Rogers-Lakewood Park on North Meridian (Campbell Street), three miles south of U.S. 6, will feature local artists in the visual, literary and performing arts media. Visitors will browse through display booths, meet the local artists and watch a live performance on the "Arts Alive" stage. at 2 p.m. Sunday Angel Star performs. Gate fee is $5. The event also will feature hands-on children's projects and refreshments.

CRAFTS BAZAAR | Hammond

Hammond High All School Booster Club will host its first community bazaar, craft and fun fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot at the high school, 5926 Calumet Ave. There will be a concession stand, games and sale items. It's a school fundraiser.

ARTS AND CRAFTS SHOW | Highland

Highland Parks and Recreation Department's 2008 arts and craft show with vendor fair is set for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Lincoln Center, 2450 Lincoln St. Handmade items as well as products from direct sales will be available. Crafters will be selling doll clothes, candles, afghans, hand-made jewelry, bean bag games, glass art, home décor, photo albums, hand bags, and more. They have dealers representing Discovery Toys, Tupperware, Arbonne, Tastefully Simple, Home Interiors, and more. Tiffany's Tea Room and the American Legion Post 17 will be open for lunch and bake sale concessions. The winter show is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 29 and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 30. Returning arts and crafts vendors must register with payment for the winter show by Oct. 30 or the space will be given to another vendor. New vendors may sign up after Oct. 30.
