Crown Point's favorite rock 'n' roll sons -- Terrence Kline, Sam Henderson, Seth Henderson, Ryan Gullett and Brandon McQueen -- collectively known as Asteria, have been busy lads these last few months.

The band wrapped up recording its second national album just before undertaking a massive national summer tour on June 25 that will have covered 9,000-plus miles throughout the Midwest, the West and the Southwest.

To celebrate its homecoming, the band will appear in an all-ages show at 7 tonight at the newly remodeled and refurbished On The Square Sports Academy in downtown Crown Point.

Its newest song collection, "Asteria," was released last Tuesday. Opening the show for Asteria will be four rising young bands -- Carawae, This Century, The Fastest kid Alive and Young & Devine.

"Asteria" is the well-worth-waiting-for follow-up to the group's 2007 national debut disc, "Slip Into Something More Comfortable," with Broken English Records, which has sold nearly 10,000 copies.

Its 2005 regional demo CD, "A Lesson in Charades," is still available to buy at the band's Web site store, asteriarock.com.

Recorded at Seth Henderson's own Ampt Studios and produced by Henderson with co-production credits to the other band members, "Asteria" is a true DIY indie project.

Fans can get "Asteria" online at all major Web music outlets, such as iTunes, Napster and Rhapsody, or locally at stores such as Broadway Music in Merrillville, Hometown Music in Lowell, Front Porch Music in Valparaiso, Dynamite Music in Griffith and S&J Stereo in Highland.

Fans of such bands as Fall Out Boy, Plain White T's, and White Tie Affair likely will enjoy Asteria's music.
