A Knox-based Christian rock band with a blend of punk and alternative has accomplished a lot in its short history, both musically and spiritually.

Ps 150 features Brandon DeLetto (lead vocals and guitar), his wife Samantha DeLetto (bass, keyboards), Moses Martinez (guitar) and Brianna Krause (drums).

The band has just released "For the One," a new album of original material and will perform Aug. 1 at a benefit in Michigan City for a young girl suffering from cancer.

Last summer Ps 150 brought along their instruments and performed during a missionary trip to Uganda, Africa.

"We played the whole time we were there," Brandon DeLetto said. "It was a life-changing experience for us. We've done so much just in the short time being together and we all give credit to God for leading us."

Brandon and Samantha have been married nine years and played together in other bands prior to forming Ps 150 three years ago. Martinez came aboard after working as a roadie for one of the couple's previous bands. The group's youngest member is Krause, 16, who was a drum student of Brandon's.

"She's accomplished a lot being with us," DeLetto said.

Brandon wrote most of the songs on the new album filled with "rockers and ballads" while Samantha and Martinez penned one each. Titles include "Face to Face," "You Lift My Soul" and "Your Presence."

"People will be excited and blessed to hear our music," DeLetto said.

"It's what I live for. It's not just the music it's the message behind it that grabs people."

Ps 150 recently performed at a Relay for Life event in LaPorte.
