NEW FRIENDS | Highland

New Friends welcomes single, divorced and widowed men and women older than 50. The group meets from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays at Porte de L'eau clubhouse, 2033 Porte De L'eau off of 45th Street, to play cards. Club activities include dinners, shows, picnics, golf, bowling and potlucks. Drop-ins are welcome.

JOBS FOR SENIORS | Indiana

Low-income Hoosiers 55 and older who want to work but can't find a job can get assistance from Experience Works. Paid training assignments and job-placement services are available for those unemployed, retired and wanting to return to work, or who have never had a job. Experience Works will pay a worker's wages while they learn new job skills at a community service organization, then help the worker prepare a resume and go for interviews. Experience Works has helped thousands of Hoosier seniors get jobs.

NEW SENIOR SERVICES | Merrillville

Merrillville Clerk Treasurer Eugene M. Guernsey has created a new department within the clerk treasurer's offices at the Merrillville Town Complex, 7820 Broadway. Senior Services, a nonprofit service and an all-volunteer operation, will provide information, literature and guidance to Merrillville seniors. SENIOR AEROBICS | Highland

Highland Parks and Recreation Department offers senior low-impact aerobics 9:30 to 10 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays at Lincoln Center, 2450 Lincoln St. The cost for this mini-session is $9.50 for residents and $12.50 for nonresidents. Register.

Homewood-Flossmoor Park District announces Keeping Current discussion group for participants ages 55 and older. BINGO DINNERS | Lake Station

Enjoy dinner and play bingo on Mondays and Thursdays at American Legion Post 100, 1899 Central Ave. Doors open at 4 p.m., early birds start at 6 p.m., and regular games start at 7 p.m. Various set-ups are available. CAPE COD TRIP | New England
