Wellness Astrology column by Ted PanDeva Zagar
Known on every continent and blessed with a family of 152 adopted "daughters" in Africa, Oprah Winfrey is the face of American womanhood projected world-wide.
Winfrey was born at 4:30 p.m. Jan. 29, 1954, in Kosciusko, Miss.
Her chartwheel depicts Earth as a circle in the center surrounded by a sky divided into 12 Houses. The 1st House starts at the eastern horizon, with the western horizon starting the 7th House. The 10th House cusp is the point directly overhead.
Winfrey's talk show -- the most popular in television history -- possesses a confessional element that has proven therapeutic for both her guests and millions of viewers. By sticking to this format when bravely facing her own dilemmas or enthusiastically sharing her epiphanies, Winfrey has enhanced countless lives.
Winfrey's willingness to join hands when focusing on matters of health might actually be saving lives. Her recent discovery that a thyroid problem could have contributed to her well-known rollercoaster weight problem -- as well as other symptoms like alternating states of exhaustion and high energy -- provided the vast female segment of her audience with the opportunity to explore their own menopause-related issues.
The thyroid gland -- along with the neck, throat, cervical vertebrae and tonsils -- is governed by Taurus (April 20-May 20) and its associate planet, Venus. Solar system members spaced within 10 degrees are conjunct, blending and mixing their respective rulerships within those natives born during these occasional planetary encounters.
Winfrey has an extremely tight conjunction between her natal Sun (vitality) and Venus at 9 and 8 degrees Aquarius in the 2nd House, that portion of the encircling sky normally associated with Taurus. The sensitivity of the talk show queen's weight-regulating organ reflects this union of the Sun to the thyroid planet in the thyroid house.
Sun-Venus also placed the beauty queen's tiara on Winfrey's brow during 1971.
Restore the balance in your life and know that love is the brightest star!
