CALUMET CITY | The city clerk is setting up shop temporarily around the city to help residents buy their vehicle city stickers.

Residents also can stop by to register to vote, buy an animal license or learn about other city services.

The stickers also are on sale at the clerk's office and online at www.calumetcity.org.

Calumet City Mayor Michelle Markiewicz Qualkinbush said residents shouldn't wait until the last minute to get their stickers because the line stretches around the building.

The deadline for buying vehicle stickers is May 30. Beginning June 1, a $100 late fee plus the cost of the sticker will be charged. Residents also could face a $50 fine if police ticket them for missing stickers.

The cost of a sticker for cars and motorcycles is $50. The price for trucks depends on the vehicle's weight.
