CHICAGO | Here is an opportunity to take the stage in Chicago with one the area's well-known Salsation Theatre Company.

Rose Guccione long time member of Salsation and Media Coordinator said that the auditions are not limited to Latinos but anyone familiar with the Latino culture or who basically wants to learn about theatre, writing, technical aspect of theatre, and stage management are encouraged to participate.

"Our mission is to inspire and educate Latinos and non-Latinos in the use of theatrical and other performing arts as a medium for self-expression," Guccione said.

The auditions will consist of improvisation and cold-reading from Salsation archival sketches. The rehearsals will be weekly and will continue over the summer with potential performances starting in the late summer/fall time frame.

Theatre productions offer a unique brand of Comedy with a Latin Flavor. It has given dozens of talented artists the chance to develop their own artistic voices, to tell their stories, and to showcase the Hispanic experience.

Considered Chicago's first and foremost Latino sketch comedy and improv troupe, Salsation is a non-for-profit company whose mission is to showcase the Latino experience in a way that is fun and educational for all audiences and to reach out to our community and develop the next generation of performers.
