SPAGHETTI DINNER | Whiting

A spaghetti dinner will be served from 4 to 7 p.m. June 18 by members of American Legion Whiting Post 80 at the post hall, 2003 Indianapolis Blvd. Spaghetti, salad and garlic bread will be included at a cost of $6 for adults and $3 for children. East Chicago

Mayor George Pabey and the City of East Chicago will host it first East Chicago Olympics' 5k Run/Walk on June 20, starting at 8:30 a.m. at Block Junior High School featuring former Olympian and professional boxer Montell Griffen. The city is joining nationwide efforts to support and celebrate the Chicago 2016 Olympic bid. Nationally, activities have been planned by numerous cities to promote the return of the Olympics to the United States of America.
