St Patrick Parish in East Chicago will host its 22nd annual festival the weekend of July 10-12.

This three-day church event brings together members of the community, parishioners and residents from all over Northwest Indiana.

The annual fundraiser is the church' major form of fundraising;

"We count on this major fund raiser to help with our expenses throughout the year," said Juan Andrade Publicity Coordinator.

The festival offers homemade Mexican, Puerto Rican and American foods, such as tacos, nachos, hot dogs, polish sausage, snow cones and specialty items at the "cake" booth.

Live entertainment will be featured every night on the main stage starting at 7 p.m. including DJ Timabalito Friday. Performing on Saturday and Sunday evening are festival favorites, the bands Together and Ladrones playing a variety of music.

In addition, the festival features a rummage sale, beer garden, and various games and fun activities for the children.

A big draw each year is the annual festival raffle, which awards 12 cash prizes: Grand Prize, $2,000, three $1,000 prize, and seven $100 prize.

Winners will be selected at the close of the festival on Sunday evening July 12. Winners do not need to be present to win. Tickets can be purchased for $5 from the rectory or from any church member.

The public is invited to come out with their family and friends and support St. Patrick Parish. "Come enjoy great food, entertainment, play games, watch, listen and dance to the music -all at very affordable prize," added Andrade.

There will be plenty of seating in the food court area. Admission is $1 on Friday, $2 on Saturday and $3 on Sunday.
