WILDFLOWER WALK | Hammond

More than 300 species of native plants are found in Gibson Woods, including a variety of rare and unique species. Some plants produce sweet smells and odd fragrances, while some produce no scent at all. Join a Lake County Parks Naturalist to enjoy native flora on a free Wildflower Walk at 9:30 a.m. June 12 at Gibson Woods Nature Preserve, 6201 Parrish Ave. Call to register.

FISH FRY | East Chicago

Club Ki-Yowga will host a fish fry from 4 to 7:30 p.m. June 19 at the club, 5220 Indianapolis Blvd. They will serve lake perch, shrimp, walleye, catfish, cod, chicken strips and salad.
