Region residents could wake up Wednesday to more than an inch of snow and icy roads.
The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory around 9 p.m. Tuesday calling for up to two inches of snow throughout Northwest Indiana.
The snowfall -- combined with dropping temperatures -- is expected to last until at least 2 a.m., and mixed with sleet, could lead to slick roadways. The NWS warns residents to prepare for slippery roads and limited visibility during the storm advisory.
