Show premieres at 7:30 p.m. Friday
CHICAGO HEIGHTS | Marian Catholic High School's fall play, Tom Dudzick's "Over the Tavern," is a comedy about growing up in a Catholic, Polish-American family in Buffalo, N.Y., during the Eisenhower years. Rudy Pazinski, played by Chris Skurka, is beginning to question the teachings of the Baltimore Catechism that are literally being hammered into him by Sister Clarissa, played by Vanessa Brignol and Kim Dorsey.
Mark Donaway is directing the play, assisted by student director Julie Zielinski. Technical direction is being handled by Bernard Jablonski, with Mike Losos and Alex Block as stage managers, Nathan Keene running lights, Amanda Coughlin and Melissa Buishas on props, and sound being run by Sarah Hon and Krysta Schauer.
Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Tickets will be available at the box office or by calling (708) 756-9443. Tickets are $6 general admission, $5 for seniors 65 and older and students with a photo ID. Marian Catholic's theater is at the corner of Joe Orr Road and Ashland Avenue in Chicago Heights, with the theater entrance on Joe Orr Road.
