Musical | Chicago Heights
Bloom High School students will stage the musical "The Wiz" today and April 19 in the school's Workman Auditorium. Both performances will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets, available at the box office, will be priced at $6 for adults, and $5 for students with IDs and for senior citizens. Children 5 and younger are admitted free. "The Wiz" is an adaptation of "The Wizard of Oz" story by L. Frank Baum. The school is at 22331 Cottage Grove Avenue.

Junior Olympics | Calumet City
The Calumet Memorial Park District will host its local competition of the Junior Olympics from 10 a.m. to noon April 19 at the Sandridge Center, 600 Oglesby Ave. This free event is open to all boys and girls ages 8 to 13, who will compete in various basketball, tennis, soccer and track and field events. Winners will advance to the regional competition, and may advance to the nationals.

Explore ArtChicago | University Park
Today is the last day to register for Explore ArtChicago, taking place April 28. Join Geoff Bates from the Nathan Manilow Sculpture Park at Governors State University at one of the most important art fairs in the world. Bates will lead participants from the University Park Metra station as they travel by rail and the CTA Brown Line to the front door of the Merchandise Mart. Once there, attendees will have the chance to meet directly with gallery representatives, who will discuss their presentations and answer questions. The afternoon is open for lunch and self-guided exploration of the show. The group will gather in the late afternoon and return together to University Park. Admission includes entry to five separate contemporary art fairs. Discounted tickets are available through the Nathan Manilow Sculpture Park. The price of $15 includes admission to the shows only. Participants are responsible for their own food and drink and transportation costs.

Prairie State College's Career Development Services, the Illinois Employment Training Center, the Chicagoland Regional College Program and UPS invite area businesses and organizations to participate in a job fair.
