Born July 11, 1990.
Son of Cindy Dodge of Lake Station.
Brother to Chelsea, Nathan and Jessica.
Grandson of Robert and Kay Oetman of Lake Station.
Member of Family Bible in Portage.
Likes to run and read.
Accomplishments: Nolan Dodge is a junior at Lake Station Edison Junior-Senior High School. He's achieved a 3.7 grade point average on a scale of 4.0, was named to the Principal's Honor Roll and is a member of National Honor Society. Dodge is involved in Academic Super Bowl, French Club and athletics. He's a four-year varsity track and cross country runner, representing the latter as captain this year. A varsity wrestler throughout high school, he earned the Most Improved Wrestler award. Dodge participates in Relay for Life each year in Portage and is involved in the youth group, Campus Life and service projects at his church. He is preparing to take the SAT in May and will send the scores along with the required recommendation letters to U.S. Representative Pete Visclosky, D-Merrillville, in his quest for a nomination to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. "I think I can make a difference and it will help with my future career in politics," he said of his college plans.
Personal hero: "My Mom. It's been hard for her to raise us by herself and she's always happy."
What I read: "I like to read fantasy books and the Bible a lot."
What I do for fun: "I like to go to the movies, play pool or hang out with my friends."
People might be surprised to know: "My overall goal in life is to be governor of Indiana."
