Spaghetti Fest | East Chicago
American Legion Auxiliary Allied Unit 369 will have its annual Spaghetti Fest from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m. Nov. 21 at the post, 1401 W. Chicago Ave. It's $6 per person. A silent auction and bake sale will also take place. Tickets can be purchased at the door.

Combat Classic | Hammond
Mayor Thomas M. McDermott Jr., Hammond Parks & Recreation, and Corral's Martial Arts will host the return of Corral's Combat Classic Nov. 22 at the Hammond Civic Center, 5825 S. Sohl Ave. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m. General admission is $35. The action features fighters Jared "The Spider" McMahan and Ryan "The Butcher" Brown. Team Corral showcases a Brazilian jiu-jitsu, full contact fighting style. Tickets are available at the Hammond Civic Center Box Office or locations of Corral's Martial Arts at 814 Cedar Parkway in Schererville and 265 Morthland Drive in Valparaiso. TURKEY GIVEAWAY | Gary
In celebration of the Thanksgiving season, New Beginning Outreach Ministries will hold its Third Annual Community Turkey Giveaway from 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 22 at 2480 Broadway. One turkey per household will be distributed until they run out. Bring identification. There will also be a clothing give away for men, women and children, and music and prayer throughout the event.

Jewelry class | Hammond
Lora Cairo, a jewelry designer and exhibitor at Paul Henry's Art Gallery and Studios, will be offering a jewelry-making class at 12:30 p.m. Nov. 23 at the gallery, 416 Sibley St. This will be an adult beginner level class. Materials and tools will be provided and the gallery will offer refreshments. There will be space for up to 15 students; a $10 deposit is needed to reserve a spot. Holiday party | Hammond
Area seniors 55 and older can attend the annual Seniors Only Holiday Party from noon to 3 p.m. Dec. 17 at the Hammond Civic Center, 5825 S. Sohl Ave. There will be a live band, dancing, snacks, nonalcoholic beverages and door prizes. The cost is $8 per ticket. Register and pay by Dec. 10 at the Hammond Civic Center Business Office. Free programs | Munster
The Cancer Resource Centre offers free education programs and support groups for those with a cancer diagnosis and their families. Yoga will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Nov. 24 for beginners or accomplished meditators. The Centre is at 900 Ridge Road, Suite J. Registration is required for any educational or networking group.

Support military | Lansing
The Samual Cardinal Stritch Assembly 205 Fourth Degree of the Knight of Columbus of Lansing Council 3540, Trinity Council of Chicago, Pulaski Council of Chicago, San Salvador Council of Palos Heights, Coronata Council of Calumet City, Pinta Neri Council of Riverdale, Blue Island Council and Marian Council of Homewood, have undertaken a program to support military troops. In the past two years the Troop Gift Program has shipped more than 1,500 boxes to Iraq. They are again asking for help in collecting items, packing and labeling gifts to be sent to troops. The goal this year is 1,000 boxes. This will be done Nov. 28 and 29.
