HAMMOND--NIPSCO expects power to be restored by today
Times Staff Report
HAMMOND | Power is expected to be fully restored this morning after 650 customers were in the dark part of Saturday night.
By 9:30 p.m., only about 100 of those customers were still without power, NIPSCO spokesman Larry Graham said.
The areas still affected were between 169th and 171st streets, he said.
A downed wire was to blame for the outage, which darkened the Purdue University Calumet campus.
