HOMEWOOD | Free screenings and low-cost school physicals are highlights of this year's Family Health Fair, co-sponsored by the Homewood Rotary Club and Ingalls Health System.

The fair is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the H-F Sports Complex at James Hart School, 183rd and Aberdeen in Homewood.

There will be more than 35 screenings and services including a free total cholesterol blood test, along with a free 12-lead EKG.

Discounted blood tests include a $10 full lipid profile (HDL, LDL, triglycerides plus an extra glucose test).

Check Ingalls Web site for information on prices and fasting information for chemistry profile, CBC/anemia test, thyroid profile, hemoglobin A1c, and a prostate (PSA) blood test for men not enrolled in Medicare.

Popular displays such as mini-stress massages and screenings such as scratch tests for allergies, eye exams and hearing tests will return, as will cancer screenings. Physicians on Ingalls staff will conduct breast health exams, prostate and testicular cancer exams, skin cancer screenings and offer colon cancer screening kits. Rotary health professionals conduct cataract and glaucoma screenings, back and neck chiropractic exams and more.

LifeSource Blood Center will conduct a blood drive on site at the health fair.

Appointments are not necessary for any of the day's screenings, and you do not have to be a resident of Homewood to attend.
