Luke Harangody spoke at his alma mater on Wednesday at Andrean High School. About 100 campers listened to stories from the reigning Big East Player of the Year at Notre Dame. Harangody stressed academics and character to the young players.

"I've known a lot of good players from Northwest Indiana who put all their eggs in one basket, basketball," Harangody said. "And now they don't have anything because the basketball didn't work out. But if you get the grades, no matter what happens to your grades you'll be fine."

Harangody was at 5959 Broadway in support of incoming 59ers coach Carson Cunningham, who is trying to rebuild the once top-flight program that only had two wins last winter. Andrean won sectional title three times in Harangody's career there.

"Luke is a great player, there's no doubt about that," Cunningham said. "But wakes this important isn't his game, but his character. That's what sets him apart from a lot of other players."
